BYO AWARDED THE KING’S AWARD for VOLUNTARY SERVICE

BYO is overjoyed to announce that we have been awarded The King’s Award for
Voluntary Service 2023. Equivalent to an MBE, KAVS is the highest Award given to local
voluntary groups in the UK, and they are awarded for life.


BYO is a community rooted charity set up 41 years ago (1982), with the core mission to
improve the education, skills, employment, health and recreation outcomes for local
community. We are currently open 7 days a week, delivering range of frontline activities and
services for children, young people, women & girls and senior residents – only possible with
the unwavering support from the local community and volunteers.


Faz Haq – BYO founding member was delighted and said, ‘very proud of all our volunteers
for their dedication and hard work …… a tremendous achievement and huge thank you to
you all’

Mohammed Joynal – BYO Centre Manager said, ‘this is a proud moment for BYO and
